A Prayer

It’s funny how we at times place so much weight on a single moment. We take for granted all the previous moments that made that one small moment possible. In the presence of the divine are all things achievable. In and of our human selves, we are often overwhelmed, frightened, and forgetful of our true identity. In the midst of the illusion, we see neither the big picture nor the truth.

I offer you this day the freedom I give myself; wash away the dust of another day’s journey from your hands and feet. As we surrender our fears, our anger, our hurt, and our weariness…

Let us embrace our faith, our trust, our peace, and our strength,
As we invite the presence of our God throughout this day into every decision, situation, and circumstance. Let us pray.

Oh God guide us past reactive behavior based on that which does not even exist. Lead us to the still voice within that we may each discover who we truly are.

May the life we each live be a gift to a world beset by fear.

Our touch, the caress of a loving presence.

Our words, a wake up call.

Our presence, a light filled vessel.

With gratitude, we accept renewal and unlimited possibility.
We offer to the world, this day, the freedom, we give ourselves. Let it be so.
And the people said, “Let it be so.”
