A Popular View

It is popular for many people to view the various world religions and cults as being basically one and the same. I do not. Some people feel that we all are worshipping the same God; we are just using different names.

I strongly disagree.

I have even heard other Christians justifying the validity of the name Allah. They insist Allah is the same as Jehovah. Although this has been an attractive notion for many, the main difficulty with this position is that the different religious leaders actually taught different and conflicting things.

Muhammad taught that God, though one personal God, cannot have a son. Joseph Smith (founder of Mormonism) taught that there are many gods and that the Father of Christ has a human body. This belief is essentially polytheistic. Even the teachings of Judaism refute the idea that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God. C

Christianity insists that Jesus is the Messiah, the unique eternal Son of God, equal to God, a term understood to mean "of the same nature as God", God. Furthermore he died on the cross, and was literally raised in a resurrected body.
