The Afterlife Community

My view of the afterlife is one of communal existence - not like the communities of this world in which differences as well as similarities suggest the class and ethnic makeup of society; but a group of formerly diverse people bound together through sameness and oneness. All outward distinctions will be shed from this community. There will be no Jew or gentile, no rich or poor, no male or female.

We will be spirit. We shall accomplish truth.

I see the idea of the perfect relationship as we have now with one exception; every secret and inner thought will be exposed. We shall be transparent. This will cause an increased level of understanding and trust, love unconditional.

I see the population of this comunity working in harmony with each other and with God.

The Bible speaks of us as having resurrected bodies. The bodies that we will have will be designed so that we will be able to perform the primary function of worship and praise, proficiently.

I believe that, in the afterlife, there will be opportunity for increased knowledge, love, and intimacy with God. And though we will never fully comprehend God, we will have all eternity to discover God.

Finally,
I believe that Jesus’ prayer, recorded in John 17, will be answered completely.

We will be made one as Jesus and the Father are one.
