God Awareness

I believe that within everyone, there is the natural desire to seek and experience God. Human beings are spirit as well as body. The word “spirit” comes from the Latin word meaning "to breathe." Spirituality is then a unique mix of conscious (mental) awareness, beliefs (faith) and unconscious (senses) awareness.
We at times call this experience with God intuition, feeling, premonition, hindsight. Though God does not always initiate the experience, God does allow Godself to be experienced. Friends and families often pursue stronger union with each other during times of sickness and death through meditation and prayer. Surgeons concerned with the mental wellbeing of their patients suggest visitations with chaplains, ministers, and clergy. Even businesses have sent employees on retreats away from family and the workplace for renewal of creativity and productivity. While it is not impossible to experience God in the flesh, within the flesh there are so many deterrents that keep us from truly having communion with God. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:14; But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
This is why I believe that during times of struggle, famine, poverty, disaster that the God awareness is so much more realized and welcome.
